Like that creepy ex-boyfriend who just won’t give it up, Facebook is very hard to break up with!
I made a clean break: I just cut that S.O.B. right out of my life. I deleted the apps and the shortcuts, and just walked away cold turkey. No miscommunication. No mixed signals. I was blunt and clear and ended it swiftly.
But Facebook just can’t take a hint.
After day one, I noticed two emails from Facebook. Each email was to alert me that one of my friends had posted something that I may want to take a look at. Interesting. Then I received a few more of these emails.
Then yesterday, I received the message pictured above.
Wow! Talk about desperately trying to lure me back in!
I don’t even know what it means to have a “poke.” I’ve been on Facebook for almost a decade and have never, as far as I can remember, been poked. But I leave for 3 days and suddenly someone is poking me?!
At first, I was so tempted by these emails. A severe case of FOMO set in, and I wondered what else was happening that I wasn’t seeing.
But I just chose to ignore them and keep moving forward.
Now, I just need to figure out how to adjust the privacy setting on my email.
Cheers – Emily
